    At the Piano

Produced by Arts on Site, "At the Piano" will be shown in the Studio 3R blackbox theatre on Friday, October 24, 2025 at 6:30 pm and 8:30 pm. Click below to purchase tickets.

"At the Piano" is a compassionate gaze into the complexities of post-pandemic social reintegration. Set to a soundtrack of contemporary Flamenco music, including the Jerezana vocalist Maria Terremoto, Sevillian pianist Pedro Ricardo Miño and Granadino vocalist Antonio Campos, as well as Chopin and original song compositions, the artists use the movement languages of Flamenco,  Danza Estilizada, and more to dance the themes of isolation, togetherness, and survival. "At the Piano" will be performed by Aliesha Bryan (Pájaro Negro), Georgia Dahill-Fuchel, Freddy Ruiz, Qi Yang, and guests Antonio "Tiriti" Tran and Vinay Maloo.

Workshop: Therapeutic Movement in the Face of Climate Change

Come join us on Friday April 25th, 2025 for this virtual workshop where participants, through lecture and embodied experience, will learn about and address the mental health effects of climate change on a personal level. Using dance/movement therapy principles, workshop participants will experience first-hand how tapping into the body’s wisdom can help them to access, practice and build needed resilience for the times ahead.

    thumbnail_Therapeutic-Movement-2.png

Join us virtually on Friday May 23rd, 2025 for a workshop designed to guide participants in understanding how climate change affects our mental health. Through a mix of talks and hands-on activities, participants will learn about those impacts, how our bodies respond to stress, and how movement can be a tool for healing. They will also explore how using the body’s natural wisdom can help build the strength and resilience needed to cope with the challenges ahead.

Join us on December 18th at 7:30 at Chez Bushwick for Sacred Bodies, Sacred Sounds, a mesmerizing performance by the brilliant Aliesha Bryan.

In this thought-provoking piece, Aliesha takes us on a journey into the depths of ownership - of things, of people, and of oneself. Through raw, evocative movement, she explores what it means to truly be your own and how survival can transform into art. Her work, grounded in Flamenco, African diaspora dances, contemporary forms, and somatic practices, pulses with power, vulnerability, and truth. This is not just a dance; it's an experience, an exploration of the body as sacred, of sound as healing, and of art as transformation.

Why You Should Come: Witness the work of a multidisciplinary artist whose performances have graced venues like the UN Headquarters, the African American Museum, and the Victoria Flamenco Festival. Be inspired by themes of healing and resilience, as Aliesha invites us to consider, "What does it mean to be fully your own?"Support an evening that holds space for questions, growth, and the healing potential of art.
